I played high school football at Laurel High School in New Castle, PA.  I played on three consecutive league championship teams and was a member of the runner up WPIAL single A team in 1976.  Began coaching in 1982 at New Oxford High School.  I have coached two years at the varsity level and the remainder of my coaching experience is with middle school.   I have coached offensive and defensive line for my entire career.

Coach Higgins is a graduate of Dundalk Community College in Baltimore, Maryland and is entering his 21st season as a football coach, his first as a varsity head coach. Coach Higgins has been an assistant coach at Susquehannock for the past 10 years, 3 years at the Jr. High level and 7 as a varsity assistant. During his coaching tenure the Warriors have won 3 divisional championships and qualified for district playoffs twice. Coach Higgins recently celebrated his 25th wedding anniversary with his wife Karen. The two are parents of four Susquehannock alumni, daughters Trisha and Tracey, who were varsity cheerleaders and sons Jerry and Josh were both York County All–Star football players for the Warriors. Coach Higgins is a Mechanical Designer currently under contract to Harley – Davidson.
